frequently asked questions
How long does Car Moving take?
Delivery of your vehicle will take anywhere from the same day to 14 days. All cars are being loaded either on a car carrier or a truck along with other cars. Below are some basic ideas to help you along the way.
East Coast to West Coast Auto Moving – approx. 7-14 days
Midwest to East Coast Car Hauler – approx. 5-8 days
South to North Auto Transport – approx. 5-8 days
All shipping times are estimated and should not be considered as guarantees.
How does door-to-door Car Moving service work?
Door-to-door service means the truck driver will get as close to your door as he can legally and safely. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from driving into some residential areas. Auto Moving trucks are massive and need lots of space to maneuver and turn around. If your home is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may ask you to meet the truck at a different destination.
Who can I contact during my Car Hauler?
The company transporting your vehicle will provide you with a number that you can call and receive your information.
What about Auto Transport insurance coverage?
The carrier transporting your vehicle will provide you with insurance. This insurance covers all damages caused by accidents while the vehicle is loaded, major changes in the vehicle’s condition, and unforeseeable damage that is a result of mishandling by the carrier.
What forms of payment are accepted for Car Moving?
Cash, cahier check, money orders, visa and master cards will be accepted. No personal checks and no business checks will be accepted. Payment must be arranged prior to pick up.
Why does a truck (SUV) cost more than a regular vehicle?
All shipments are based on weight and size that a truck can legally carry. This is why there may be a small price difference.
What Car Hauler paperwork do I need in order to ship my vehicle?
In order to transport your vehicle you don’t need to provide any paperwork. All that we ask from you is a signature and a walk around your vehicle before Auto Transport. During this walk you and the driver will inspect the vehicle for any pre-existing damages at pickup before Car Moving witll take place.
What should the customer do if the vehicle arrives with damage?
Make sure that you let the driver know that the damage is new and was not on original bill of loading. All damages should be marked and noted clearly and let the driver sign off on them. The next step is to contact the office of the carrier transporting your vehicle and let them know as soon as possible. Some carriers have a day limit so make sure you do it right away
Do I need to be present during pickup and delivery?
Yes, we require you, or a designated person, to be present upon pick up of your vehicle. During pick up a contract “bill of landing” will need to be signed by you at the origination point. If unable to be there please contact the carrier prior to the pick up date to confirm an alternate in care of person. However, after you place your order and you decided to change then additional charges may apply. If you schedule a day for pick up and don’t show up your vehicle could be turned over to a towing company and you would have to deal with them.
How far in advance should I schedule Car Hauler of my vehicle?
We recommend that you do it as fast as possible but you have up to a week to let us know.
